Step-by-step instructions

Complete and verify each stage before continuing.

  1. 01

    Review ledger configuration

Check ledger groups and opening balances before live posting. Ensure cash, bank, sales, purchases and tax accounts exist as intended.

  2. 02

    Verify tax classes

Confirm GST configuration and whether rates are inclusive or exclusive. Ask the accountant to approve the tax treatment.

  3. 03

    Enter source transactions

Post supported Sales and Purchase invoices; review their related double-entry accounting effects instead of duplicating entries manually.

  4. 04

    Record payments and receipts

Use vouchers with the correct party, cash/bank mode and on-account or bill-wise allocation.

  5. 05

    Handle adjustments formally

Use debit/credit notes, contra, journal or supported reversals according to the event. Preserve the original audit trail.

  6. 06

    Reconcile reports

Review day book, trial balance, outstanding balances, GST reports and bank records for the agreed reporting period.

Final verification checklist

  • Debits and credits reconcile
  • GST and party details are correct
  • Adjustments retain supporting references
